HANNAH IS NEW BRITISH ALL-AROUND CHAMPION! WELL DONE! After her Bronze medal on Floor at the recent World Cup in Portugal, Hannah cooly took the 2010 British All-around crown in Guildford. She took the title with an overall score of 57.800, comfortably ahead of nearest rivals Nicole Hibbert (55.850) and Danusia Francis (55.350), who finished with the Silver and Bronze medals respectively. I’ve had injury problems so to then return and become British Champion is fantastic.' Moving away from gymnastics, she will also have to contend with her A Level exams in June...once again, good luck. A busy summer! Hannah says she is "looking forward to it all, apart from the exams."

Good news: Hannah will be competing in her first competition since returning from her long term wrist injury. Hannah required surgery last September 2009 and has been unable to compete since. However, the wrist is now strong again and Hannah feels it is time to start competing once again. Next Saturday 22nd May Hannah will be in Guildford competing in the British Team Championships. Unfortunately her club (City of Liverpool Gymnastics Club) are unable to enter a senior team for the championships due to many injuries, so Hannah will be competing as an individual. She says she hopes to get used to competing once again. Hopefully we'll see her getting back to her old winning ways. Also, Hannah has sent her warmest wishes to team mate Jennifer Pinches, and wishes her a speedy recovery!

Beth Tweddle produced a sublime routine in the final on Floor at the recent World Championships in London to take the Gold medal in front of a jubilant home crowd! After misery on the A.bars (her strongest apparatus) when she unexpectedly fell off mid-routine and failed to qualify for the final, leaving an auror of disbelief in the expectant crowd, she dusted her self down, put the disappointment to one side, and won the Gold on Floor. Afterwards Beth claimed her young fans got her through the disappointment of her A.bars routine, and she would not have become the World Champion on Floor without the positive attitude of them.

Even though Hannah was not able to compete at the World Championships due to a wrist injury, she was able to watch her team members from the crowd, and was ecstatic when Beth won her medal. Hannah sends her congratulations to the awesome Beth Tweddle!
